A Knoxville native and Bearden High School graduate, Dr. Rader earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his MD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
His clinical career includes 29 years in private practice and eight years with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Knoxville.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and is a 100% service-connected disabled veteran.
He is the author of VA Disability Compensation and Medical Nexus and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Comprehensive Reference Manual. View the books.
Military & federal service
Dr. Rader served two years in the United States Marine Corps and received an Honorable Discharge. He later served four years in the United States Army Medical Service Corps and three years in the Army Reserve Medical Corps, attaining the rank of Captain.
